My English Learning Journey

Hello everyone, my name is Şevval. I am a first-year student in the English Language Teaching department at the Cyprus International University. Today, I am going to tell you about my journey of learning English. Over the past few months , I’ve tried different methods to improve my English. I studied vocabulary regularly. One thing that really helped me was using new words in daily conversations right after I learned them. This made it easier to remember and use them naturally. Pronunciation was one of my biggest challenges. To work on that, I watched English TV shows and movies, and I practiced repeating the sentences out loud at home. It helped me sound more fluent and confident. Before coming to Cyprus, I had never spoken to a native English speaker . But here, I’ve had many opportunities to speak English with both native and non-native speakers. I now use English almost every day, and I’ve noticed a big improvement in my speaking skills.
